Buying everything at once is easier when you work from a list. Use this checklist for students, and adjust it to your school's requirements.
Writing and notes
- One notebook per subject, or a larger multi-subject notebook for younger students.
- A rough or practice notebook for working out problems.
- Pens, pencils, a sharpener and an eraser, plus a spare set.
- A ruler, compass and geometry set where required.
Organisation
- Document files or folders for worksheets and handouts.
- A diary or planner to track homework and exam dates.
- Labels or stickers so notebooks are easy to tell apart.
Tips for parents and schools
- Check the school's list first so you do not buy the wrong size or ruling.
- Buy in bulk for several students or a whole class to keep the cost per item down.
- Choose sturdy covers for notebooks that will travel in a school bag every day.
Buying for a school or institution
Schools and institutions often order stationery in larger quantities. Planning the quantities of each item before you ask for a quotation makes the process faster and avoids missing items.
